Bill Me Later, Amazon
Saul Hansell over a the NY Times writes how Bill Me Later has been accepted by Amazon. Apparently it took seven years and a chunk of equity to get them to adopt the payment system. Bill Me Later only exists because of the automated systems for approving credit and the distrust or unwillingness to use credit cards over the net. What I particularly like about Bill Me Later is the cheaper fees (1.5% vs 2%) than credit cards charge and the great fit it has for micro transactions.

We don't like credit card companies
Dave Birch mentions the surge in discontent among merchants for the big credit card companies and the rise of the alternatives like Google Checkout, PayPal and BillMeLater.
Most interesting for me is the reported fact that Google Checkout is willing to run at breakeven or at a loss because they believe that it is so important to have a system which encourages e-commerce. Fantastic.
There are countless credit card application in almost every field of life. For instance, there are online insurance companies that receive payments through credit cards. Even if you need finance for a setting a small business, you can use credit cards. Then mortgage calculator helps you when deciding on important issues on your mortgage.
